Skating Information 2024-2025

Wednesday, February 5th - KAM & 1S - 10:00am (Kinplex II)
Wednesday, February 5th - 2L, 2/3B, & 3H - 1:00pm (Hockey Hounds)
Thursday, February 6th - 4F & 4/5R - 10:00am (Kinplex ll)
Wednesday, February 12th - 5K & 6G - 1:00 pm (Kinplex ll)

In order for your child to have the opportunity to enjoy skating this year, we ask that you read over the following important information:

SAFETY: For safety reasons, all students, staff and parents MUST wear a CSA approved hockey, skateboarding or skiing/snowboarding helmet.  A bike helmet will NOT adequately protect your child’s head.  Skates and gloves/mittens are also required while on the ice.   

EQUIPMENT:  If your child does not have a helmet or skates, please have your child let the teacher know ahead of time.  We have some extras on hand at the school and those will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.  

TRANSPORTATION:  Students will be taking a school bus to their assigned rink.  For safety reasons, skates must be in a backpack or canvas bag.  Please do not pack them in a plastic bag.  

PARENT VOLUNTEERS:  Many of our younger students are unable to tie skates.  We can always use additional hands to help tie skates.  Any parents who wish to join us at the rink and skate, MUST also wear a CSA approved helmet for insurance purposes.  Just a reminder that any parents who wish to help out, MUST have both an updated Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector as well as a Child Intervention Check on file at the school prior to the skating date.
